Art shows

Lori and I were able to make it to a couple of art shows last night.

Wendy Bantam, who I wrote a story about a few years ago and also spent some time with Colbi painting, had a show down on 14th and O Street. It was a very pretty show with some cool new art. That is her artwork that I posted.

Then we made our way to the So-Oh gallery. I found out yesterday that Renee was closing down. The economy is tough right now so it's understandable. It's just tough because I've gotten to know many of the artists that she features. From the Grabers to Platte and now it won't be as easy to see what they have been working on. I'm going to have to purchase some of their artwork. Maybe next week. Especially Clark Clark.

UPDATE: After a presentation for NET, I went for a two-mile run. I was hoping to go three miles but my legs weren't there yet. I ran it in 17:04 so you can tell I was struggling. But it was great to be outside!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
