If you haven't heard about the story yet I'm surprised. A white cop falsely accused by a black man of breaking into his own home. The president, if I heard correctly, called it stupid.
Here is a break down: http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2009/07/23/officer_at_eye_of_storm_says_he_wont_apologize/?page=1
Anyway, I'm not sure where I stand yet because I'm not sure all of the facts will still come out. Even with Obama as president we have a long ways to go in regards to race issues.
If I understand the story correctly a car drives by and sees a person breaking into a front door of a house. That person calls the police. The police come to the house and find the person inside the house. They ask for identification and the person gets belligerent. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But shouldn't you treat the police with respect at all times?
I also like Obama's comments that he is a friend and doesn't know all of the facts in this article: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2009/07/23/obama_scolds_cambridge_police/
