Kentucky Derby

Last year we went to the horse track for a night with some friends in Lincoln. We would bet a dollar on each race and try to pick the winner. Not only did we miss out most of the time but our horse normally finished last. But with a new attitude, I picked Street Sense to win the Kentucky Derby and sent some money along with friends that were actually going to the event (how cool would that be!). During our running around on Saturday (more on that in another blog), we stopped at home just in time to catch the greatest two-minutes in racing. Of course, Street Sense got off to a terrible start and I looked at Lori and said "We suck" or something like that. But then I thought that there was a lot of time left and to keep a good attitude. I thought it looked like him making his way up and sure enough at the end he was the winner going away! Yeah for us!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
