Well the State Farm run was this morning and it was chilly. I tried to prepare myself with an extra layer of clothes, a stocking cap and some gloves (the problem is that someone in the family stole the gloves). So my body was fairly warm but not my hands. I bumped into a good friend from work there and an old high school teacher. The race was around State Farm's building and down the Mo-Pac trail. I will find out results later today and post where I place. I always hope to be in the top 1/3 but I don't think that will happen this time.
It started by making a big loop around the building and then to 84th street and then turning to get on the mo-pac trail. Then came the one mile sign. I couldn't believe that was all we had run. Other people were saying the same thing. When I look at my watch i believe it said 9 something so I was kind of bummed because i usually run a mile in the 8s. But i was happy too because i was feeling it. After I hit the 2 mile mark I started to pick up the pace and started passing people that had passed me yet didn't know how the course was going to maneuver. When we got back to 84th Street i saw on opening and started to really pick up the pace because I had a lot left and then i saw the 3 mile sign so that meant just .1 left so I was pretty much sprinting (or as much as you can sprint after 3 miles). That felt really good and I bet I passed about 15 people in that short amount of time.
I ended up finishing in 31:25. But like I said, that's ok.

I'm now going to take a little bit of time and then get ready for the Havelock run in June. That is a 10K so it will be double the distance, 6.2 miles.
