new experience

I was meeting a fellow teaching friend for lunch today on East Campus. I hadn't walked from my job at NET towards East Campus yet so I wasn't sure what I was expecting. As I got out of the first parking lot, there was a familiar building where I had previously done a couple of stories (the home ec building) and I immediately felt right at home even though I hadn't reached the student union yet. I couldn't decide if I should turn down the block or not but I saw a lot of activity headed in a certain direction so I decided to follow it and the student union was right there. Wow! It was like 5 minutes away this whole time. The bookstore, copy center, deli and bowling lanes (not that I bowl but it looks kind of fun). After lunch I was walking back and the bell on campus began to chime "There is no place like Nebraska". Wow! Cool!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
