The Oath and Speech

I dreaded the wedding vows and the pastor saying too many words and I wouldn't be able to say them all back. That is what happened to Barack today. The Supreme Court Justice said too many things and he stumbled. It didn't make him look too bright and he didn't recover well.

UPDATE: I've heard that it was the Justice's fault. He reversed some of the oath and Barack had it memorized so it threw him off. Sorry Barack!

UPDATE (Wednesday night): Now they are saying that they had to re administer the oath because the words were out of order. Weird.

I was disappointed in Feinstein's talk before hand. It's not a day for political games and she brought it into it.

I liked Barack's message of even though we have tough times we will face them head on and overcome.

We will not be outlasted. The terrorists might think so but we won't stop unlike other countries around the world.

We are willing to lend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist! Good line.

I also liked Pastor Warren's invocation and the use of the Lord's Prayer. Maybe that always happens but it seemed so powerful to say that in front of millions of people and I would guess many of them were saying it as well.

There were thousands of people saying it in unison. It was a pretty cool thing to see/hear.

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
