Opening Day!

There are some great moments during the year in sports. I'd have to say the first days of the NCAA basketball tournament rank right up there. So does the home opener for the Husker football team. But the opening day of the baseball season is one of the tops as well, if not THE top. Hope springs eternal as they say. Who would have thought the Devil Rays would advance to the World Series last season? When each team takes the field they have talent and feel that it is their year.

I feel that way about the Royals. I think they can contend in the AL Central but they need to get off to a good start. Not a great start just a good start and show everyone you can play with them. Opening on the road doesn't help and then having to come home to face the Yankees is even tougher. But I think it can happen.

The problem is that Mother Nature has thrown a wrench into things and they've p0stponed the Royals' opener until tomorrow. Blah! It just won't have the same feel. All I know is that I will be flipping the channels like crazy!

Are you a Royals fan, too? The guy I sit next to at the office is a diehard fan and there's another guy in the office that loves them, too. So I often hear them chatting about the Royals. You would fit right in! ;-)

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
