Earlier this summer I decided to run the 5K at the Cornhusker State Games. You can read an earlier posting to see how I did in that event. Well that event went around Haymarket Park and now that I am gearing up to run a 10K in Omaha I thought what a better idea than to know exactly how far this is by running the same route and then just turn around and run it again for a 10K. I decided to do that tonight. The day didn't look like it was going to agree with me as it rained most of the day but I stayed positive and by 5:30 it had turned into an almost perfect night to run. It was like 60 degrees or so when I made it to Haymarket Park and parked by the starting line. As I made my way around my right shoulder started to hurt but then by the 2.5 mile mark it suddenly went away, thank goodness. The second half of the run was much easier. I ended up running it in 1:03.47. I was so happy that I could run the whole thing. I was pretty wiped at the end but I think I could have run a little bit longer, not much, but a little while.
It's my place to call home. I'm going to share my thoughts on my work, the Huskers and the rest of my great life.
