End of the first week

Well it's the end of the first week of teaching. I think they did fairly well on their speeches today. For the most part they presented themselves well and followed the rules. I was proud of them for that.

I recorded them so I will listen to them this weekend and do the grading. Then I'm going to set aside some time next week to let them listen to themselves and make corrections.

The Q&A afterwards was fun too. The topic was table topics so most of them had questions that went along with it.

Now I will gear up for week 2. It's just a little longer speech with a little longer paper and they will be able to use visuals this time, just not power point.

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
