9/11

I believe that it is the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I can still remember seeing it happen on the television in the kitchen in our old house on Melrose. I remember them saying that it was quite an accident for a plane to fly into the towers. I remember them saying that it was terrorists striking at us because they dislike our freedom. I remember the people that were killed.

It seems each generation has its war. This obviously is ours. How do we deal with it? Will it ever end? That seems to be the sad part. It doesn't look like it will ever end. People complain about us spending millions and billions of dollars on the military but yet if we get attacked again those same people will say that we didn't do enough or spend enough money to stop it from happening. I would love it to be a peaceful world where everyone got a long great but do you really think that is ever going to happen? Look around your workplace or your school. There are always people bickering about this or that. Sure it isn't taken to the extreme but there is always fighting of some sort, infighting is what a lot of people call it.

All I can say is a prayer that an attack like this will never, ever happen again but we all know with sick people in the world it will. It's just how we deal with it that is the most important thing. That is why this is Patriot Day! Remembering the people that died but also the people that risked their lives to save people from the burning buildings and the ultimate heroes that gave up their lives to save others on the plane in the field in the middle of nowhere. I say those Patriots should be honored forever!

The prospect of world peace is pretty dim - always has been if you look throughout history. Even back to biblical times, people were fighting each other. That's just the way it is, unfortunately.

But there's always hope for a better tomorrow!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
