American Idol

Well I'm shocked. No matter how you feel about American Idol you have to be shocked by the outcome of David Cook winning the title last night over David Archuleta. Colbi was a huge fan of David #2 so she was very disappointed last night. I'm not sure what would have caused that to happen. I guess maybe that David Cook was crushing everyone every week and since they don't show the actual results the public never got to see it. It's amazing that he wasn't even going to try out for the show and just went along with his brother that day in OMAHA. Talent in Nebraska -- imagine that! Plus the other thing that Cook had going for him that gained my support was that he is a Kansas City Royals fan. Most people don't dare where that hat around but I do and he does as well. He also used to work at the K. Maybe one day he served me some nachos.

On a side note, I'm usually a big Jimmy Kimmel fan but I didn't understand the decision to have him come on the show last night and roast the show. It's one place to do that on your own show or on another show but to call it karaoke was dumb. Of course it is in a lot of ways but to say that on the show is stupid.

Oh and I really like Bryan Adams and thought he was awesome last night. He has such great shows. I wish they would do an American Idol with him next year.

I was hoping David Cook would win but I missed most of the show. I did see him play with ZZ Top, which was pretty cool!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
