Vacation -- Day 1

It's been a week since i've posted but with good reason as we have been on the road since last Monday morning. It was vacation time and we headed to Minnesota and Wisconsin.

We left home at 9:30 and drove to Omaha then on to Des Moines before stopping at the Quizno's in Urbandale. We had to stop later for a restroom in a place called Boondocks. I'm not sure if it was a town or not but they had a ton of colored shirts in the gift shop that said BOONDOCKS.

We ended up getting to Bloomington at 4:30. It was pretty easy to find the Marriott. It was just to the east of Mall of America. It didn't take us long to get shopping. The mall was built in a circular fasion with fun and games on the inside of the circle. It has roller coasters and other games along with a log ride like at Worlds of Fun. We went into a ton of shops: Leggo world with a big dinosaur, American Eagle, Lucky Brand jeans, you name it, it was there.

We ended up eating at about 7 at a Bubba Gump Shrimp. That is the third one that we've been to since we've been to one in Chicago, Charleston and now this one. I had the crab shrimp and it was delicious. We stopped in the Quiksilver/Roxy store. The had some cool t-shirts. Charlotte Russe had a ton of cool tops but none that were just right for Lori. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. We went swimming afterwards until 10:30.

There was an airport in the flight path of the hotel but it didn't bug us during the night. It was cool!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
