Huskers and a thought on waving

In case you didn't know, the Huskers hit the practice field for the first time for the 2007 season today. After the first practice, I would have to say that they look pretty good even though I wasn't there. I'm just speculating.

On another note, I think I've learned why I enjoy running on the bike path so much. Those of you who grew up in a small town in Nebraska will understand. It used to be when you were driving down the road everyone waved at each other. It didn't matter if you knew the person or not, you gave some kind of wave. A big wave, a one finger wave, a wave....Now no one does. Except in my new road -- the bike path. It seems like each person you meet either waves or nods or says hi! It's amazing really. I think it is why I like it! Sure you have those idiots that won't acknowledge you but I would say 90 percent of the time the other person gestures (nicely) in some way. Welcome to small town Nebraska once again!

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
