Decision is in!

Tough decision have to be made. Sometimes there is no other thing to do.
Sometimes you can get away with putting something off for awhile and eventually it works itself out while other times there is a deadline and it has to be done.
Such is the election of 2008. I had a really tough time with this one. You could say I was stressed out about it at times (and for anyone that knows me well is probably laughing about that right now). If you've reading my blog lately you have probably read where that was all going.

I seriously didn't make up my mind until I walked into that church just down the street and had the ballot in front of me. I even weighed the pros and cons for a few seconds after having worked them out in my mind. But I really felt that this election was more about my kids than about me. In eight years Colbi will probably have graduated from college or have come close and Bret will have started college. I believe I did what was best for them in the long run and not my short-term financial status.

I'm a big believer in community organizers. They come in many shapes and sizes. The other day I ran a bunch of flyers around town to places such as Matt Talbot and the Food Bank. I talked to the leaders at those places -- community organizers in my mind. What an impact they have directly on people's lives.

Like I said, it was a tough choice for me and a personal one. But one that I believe will put the UNITED States of America back on the path that it was intended to be.

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
