Snyder back at K-State

Good luck to my friends that are K-State fans, the dictator (Bill Snyder) returns! What a mess!

Here is a guy that gave up the job a few years ago because the times had passed him by and his life was going nowhere. K-State took the great step in hiring an African-American coach and Coach Prince recruited players based on his background (including Josh Freeman). Now Coach Snyder returns to head this group of players? Talk about a group of players that won't buy into what he is selling. This thing is going to take a long time to shake out.

Then there is Snyder at the podium ripping into the media for breaking the story that he is coming back. He says he made that decision on Sunday night. Sure whatever. They had to bring this whole press conference together soon than that. He basically ripped the new media, the ones that will now rip him when this thing is a mess.

Then he stressed how he is going to make the schedule easier, what a joke! His preconference schedules were some of the easiest of all time (KU learned from this). He even referenced when he wasn't coach that a series of games pitting the SEC and the Big 12 would be great. Now he says that he would never do it.

Can't wait to see how this train wreck proceeds!

I missed the coverage but I've got to believe this is going to be a failed experiment. K-State is hoping for an instant return to the glory of the Snyder years. I doubt he can turn it around that quickly. And your point about buy-in is important. Probably not going to happen completely until he has all of "his" players in place.

K-State should have bit the bullet and hired a new coach and given him the time to turn things around, even if it meant some short-term pain.

The Snyder move is just delaying the inevitable.

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
