Doc and Yori

I just had the chance to chat with both Husker men's basketball coach Doc Sadler and Husker women's coach Connie Yori. Even though I didn't have a lot of time with them it was good to get to know them a little bit.

The life of a basketball coach is tough. As coach of a YMCA team for quite a few years and a former player, I understand the hard work that I put into it. I can't imagine how tough it is as the head coach of a major university. There are so many things that take you in so many different directions from the fans to the athletes to the potential players, Yori said that she puts in 100 hours a week during the season (how many hours are there in a week?).

I wish them both the best of luck. My story is scheduled to run as the cover of L for the January issue.

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
