up and down

Saturday was the day I was to take Kade (my wish kid) to the Saltdogs game and he was to throw out a first pitch. I love baseball and I was so excited for him to have the opportunity to do it. It was their going away night as they leave on Tuesday for Disney. The only problem was at around noon that day I got a call from my other current wish parent of Lane. I just met Lane on Monday and we started to get his wish together. He wanted to go visit Dale Earnhardt Jr. It was my first wish as a lead wishgranter. Well, his mom called to inform me that Lane had died on Friday. I was stunned. I felt so bad all of the way around and it didn't really affect me till later in the day. I was so glad that I had the wish night with Kade to look forward to. I also spent two hours playing out in the swimming pool with my Bret. Well the Saltdogs night went great and I got the family ready for their trip. Kade was super! He loves to give hugs and his mom said it must be a side effect of chemo. I took him to the park area and to the blow up things. He ate a ton of food and then I waited in line with him to run the bases at like 10:40 at night too.

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
