wish granter with Lane

I am now officially a wishgranter through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I met with my first child last night as the lead person. Sarah Pillen is working with me. Lane has been through a lot lately. The 12-year-old is adopted from Korea and he has down's. But he's been a battler throughout his life. He was the on Special Olympics team at Norris running the 100, 200 and in the relay. Then this past Feb. he got sick and is now paralyzed from the head down and had to have one of his arm amputated. His wish is to go see Dale Earnhardt Jr. and a race. I hope we can make that happen for him and his family.

Here is a link to Lane's story:

So it begins...

My schedule starts picking up again today as the class I teach at UNL (JGen 300) starts. I'm teaching on Tuesday's and Thursday's this semester from 9:30-10:45. I hope I have a great class like last semester. We will see. This will be my third semester teaching the class so I feel a lot more comfortable heading into it. I have all of the weeks figured out and the days will be much busier because I'm trying to pack the three days into two. Maybe one of the students will bring me an apple!
