I was wiped out from getting up so early on Friday and I never did get my second wind on Friday night.
Saturday morning we got up early again for the big garage sale down at my mom and dad's. We had a lot of fun with it and as a family we made over $100 so that was great. The kids have some spending money now. :-) My niece, Megan, wanted to check out other garage sales (and make fun of the people and the items that were there) so we went off on an adventure. The first place we went to had some fun stuff including a ouija board that I thought Megan should buy and hang up at her apartment but she declined. She ended up buying a happiness book and I bought a book about how to win at the lottery for a nickel (that I tried to resell on our sale for a dime but it didn't. :-(. The next one we walked to was small and we didn't stay long. It was kind of scary. Then we walked to another one, very WT. They had about 200 movies, some still in the wrappers, most of them all B movies that I've never heard of. The girl taking the money was wearing a white tubetop and white shorts and both of them were too short and it wasn't pretty, kind of gross. We bought my dad a mug that said Best Dad or something like that and then snuck it back to their house and put in on their coffee rack and then waited to see if they would notice it. We ended up getting in our car and driving to a few others. The biggest haul was at this one place that had cool blue plates, a white bowl with some yellow and those cool bowls that are pictured. The cost of everything was $3. That was about all of the excitement though. I did buy Bret a cute little book for a dime. Saturday night we mowed and then soaked in our new pool in the back that was nice and grilled some brats. Later in the night, we watched The Hitcher. I was in the mood to watch a creepy thriller and it fit the bill.
Sunday morning (Father's Day) I got up and went running for the first time in a few days. I ran the whole 3 mile route. My time wasn't the best 27:06, which was actually slower than the first time I ran that whole route. I got some great presents, some guitar books. They are awesome in that they show strum patterns and everything and they are great rock songs. That will be fun! They also got me a nice polo!
